Taeryeong Kim

Taeryeong Kim joined the Norwegian National Ballet in autumn 2025, after two years with the Norwegian National Ballet 2. With the Norwegian National Ballet, she has performed in Sir Wayne McGregor's Jocasta's Line, the peasant pas de deux in Giselle, and as one of three Shades in Natalia Makarova's La Bayadère.

As a dancer with the Norwegian National Ballet 2, Kim also appeared in productions with the Norwegian National Ballet, performing a solo role in Parish's Raymonda Suite, the Winter Fairy in Stevenson's Cinderella, one of Kitri's Friends in Don Quixote, the pas de trois in Emeralds and solo couple in Diamonds from Balanchine's Jewels, as well as in Jiří Kylián's Forgotten Land and Wings of Wax.

In the Norwegian National Ballet 2’s own productions, she performed the role of Caroline in León and Lightfoot's Step Lightly and one of the principal couples in Balanchine's Allegro Brillante.

South Korean Kim (b. 2005) started ballet in her hometown Seoul at seven years old. At the age of ten, she was admitted into the Korea National University of Arts Academy, where she studied for five years while also studying at the Sunhwa Arts Middle School & High School from age 12–15.

At the age of 15, she was awarded a scholarship through the ballet competition Youth American Grand Prix Korea. This brought her to the Royal Ballet School in London, where she studied classical ballet for three years before coming to Norway. During her education in London, she danced the role of Kitri in Nurejev’s Don Quixote, and also in works such as Wheeldon’s Within the Golden Hour, Kylián’s Sechs Tanze, and Neumeier’s Yondering.
