Norwegian National Ballet's Summer Course 2026
We have the pleasure of inviting you to the Norwegian National Ballet's Summer Course 2026!
The Norwegian National Ballet's summer course is a week of intensive training in the Opera's beautiful premises. The course is a collaboration between the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, the Ballet School at DNO&B and the Norwegian National Ballet, and is generously supported by our sponsors – Sparebankstiftelsen, Norsk Tipping and Tom Wilhelmsen's Foundation.
Information about the course
The course is aimed at classical ballet students and is suitable for dancers from 10 to 19 years of all nationalities and will take place 22.06.26 – 27.06.26 in the Oslo Opera House
The pupils will receive instruction in classical ballet, modern ballet, variations/repertoire, basic training as well as lectures with dancers, educators and health personnel from the Norwegian National Ballet.
The summer course is a unique opportunity for ballet talents from ballet schools and cultural schools across the country to train together with students from the Ballet School at DNO&B, Wilhelmsen Academy, Oslo National Academy of the Arts and dancers from the Norwegian National Ballet UNG.
A typical day will include lessons from
- 09:30 – 15:30 for the youngest pupils
- 09:30 – 17:00 for the oldest students
The week rounds off with a small show on Saturday at the Studio for friends and family.
Travel/Accommodation
Students must cover the costs of accommodation and travel during the summer course.
Application form
The course costs NOK 2600 and includes tuition, lunch, and fruit every day.

Please include a link to a short video that includes:
- Tendu & adagio exercise in centre
- Piroutte exercise
- Petit allegro exercise & grand allegro exercise
- Échappé and passé exercise in the centre for students already working on pointe
Applicants from Wilhelmsen Akademiet, KHIO og Ballettskolen do not need to send a video.
Students who apply will be evaluated by a jury. Places are allocated according to skill level and applicants will receive a response from us by 20.03.2026

Ballet teachers
It is recommended that teachers accompany their students on the course. Registration for teachers is done via the following form:

In addition to observing classes, teachers accompanying their students on the course
will participate in lectures and discussion forums on classical ballet teaching, with special focus on health and injury prevention.
There is no charge for teachers who follow their students.
