Markus Bjørlykke

The Norwegian tenor Markus Bjørlykke completed a bachelor’s degree in musical theatre before continuing his studies at KHiO/The Opera Academy, where he finished his master’s degree in 2022. He was accepted into the opera studio WOYS (The Wilhelmsen Opera Studio for Young Singers) from autumn 2024.

In 2023, he performed roles such as Geir Ove in Krenket – Vern barnet (Trygve Brøske) with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera, Goro in Madama Butterfly (Opera Trøndelag), and Podestà in La finta giardiniera (KHiO). Previously, he has sung Leicester in Elisabetta regina d’Inghilterra, Dr. Caius in Falstaff, and Nero in The incoronazione di Poppea at KHiO, as well as the role of Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi at Opera by the Fjord (Bergen National Opera’s summer academy).

He has also performed in connection with Oslo Operafestival and with Verdensteateret, in addition to performing in The Phantom of the Opera at Folketeateret.
