Award-winning and in demand

“You may banish me to Naxos if she doesn’t become the most wanted Wagnerian soprano of her generation” wrote The Times critic after Lise Davidsen’s performance in the role of Ariadne auf Naxos during the festival in Glyndebourne in 2017. Norway’s young soprano superstar is now performing a solo concert in the Main Stage for the first time.

Davidsen experienced her international breakthrough in the summer of 2015 when she won both Plácido Domingo’s song competition Operalia and the Queen Sonja International Music Competition. In 2015, she was also the triple winner of the Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Amsterdam and, since then, has been a guest performer at opera houses like the Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper and Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. In 2018, she was the soloist profile for the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and, that same year won the prestigious ‘Young Artist of the Year’ award during the Gramophone Classical Music Awards.
