Clear as crystal angelic singing and the sound of a dozen cellists

Gustavo Tavares and his colleagues in the Opera Orchestra’s cello group have invited a Norwegian soprano to a concert like no other.

Brazilian, Italian and Norwegian music...

... and in an unusual combination! Perhaps this is exactly what is needed to bring light to a dark November day?

Cellist Gustavo Tavares has put together a programme that includes Villa-Lobos' famous Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, a premiere performance of Marisa Rezende’s Torvelinho, four of the most beautiful songs by Grieg specially arranged for the occasion – in addition to Gustavo’s own, colourful compositions.

Welcome to the unique sound of 12 cellos performing music together with a singer of extraordinary calibre!
