Internationally celebrated opera star returns home
Lise Davidsen is fully booked on singing assignments for many years to come. The greatest stages around the world await her voice, described by The New York Times as: “Not just a voice. The voice.”
This is an unique opportunity to experience the soprano in Bjørvika, where she interacts such other great voices as baritone Yngve Søberg and tenor Russell Lamar Thomas. Together with the Norwegian National Opera Orchestra and Opera Chorus, she treats us to Verdi’s formidable opera as a concert.
Intense love and burning revenge
La forza del destino revolves around Leonore, who has fallen in love with the man who has accidentally killed her father. But her brother is determined to take revenge. The result is a proper family drama with intense emotions.
The opera was written by Giuseppe Verdi in the mid-1800s. The story itself takes place in the mid-1700s, but the music makes it pertinent and alive all the same. Just by listening, we are able to empathise with the feelings of infatuation, shame, fear and sorrow experienced by Leonore.
World-class conductor leads the Norwegian National Opera Orchestra
The conductor is Paolo Arrivabeni, who specialises in Italian opera. Like Lise Davidsen, he has the world’s greatest opera stages as his workplace.

Order pre-show food and drinks or to enjoy during intermission. If you want to pre-order for intermission, we recommend ordering from the bar closest to your seat in the auditorium.
The bars are open before the performance and during intermission. All advance orders are sorted alphabetically by the last name of the person placing the order. You are not permitted to bring any drinks into the auditorium.
