Sing opera young

A truly massive youth choir 

Imagine a choir of young singers from across Norway – performing opera. Imagine a full orchestra with brilliant young musicians. And imagine that you get to sing along with them. You can do just that when the Norwegian National Opera invites you to Syng opera ung, in collaboration with Opera Norway and the Norwegian National Youth Orchestra. 

Professional soloists meet young talent 

On stage, our professional opera soloists perform side by side with young singers from across the country, including the Norwegian National Opera’s own Children’s Chorus. The evening is hosted by actor, radio presenter and operetta artist Kristoffer Olsen. 

The audience joins in 

As a member of the audience, you are invited to sing along to well-known melodies from the wonderful world of opera and musical theatre. Lyrics will be displayed on screen, just like karaoke. At times, you can also sit back and simply enjoy the music performed by these talented young musicians. 

Opera for everyone 

Syng opera ung is part of the National Opera’s umbrella project Opera for Everyone, which aims to strengthen and develop the connection between opera, singing and public health. The project is made possible with the support of the DNB Savings Bank Foundation.
