Geir Bergkastet
Managing Director
Geir Bergkastet has been Managing Director and overall manager of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet since 1 August 2017. He was previously Director of Lillehammer University College, and has also held the positions of Managing Director at Oslo Kino AS and Director of the National Theatre and Rogaland Theatre.
Bergkastet is a qualified economist and began his career as an economics consultant, first at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, and then at the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre. Bergkastet has acted as Chairman of the Board for Sentralen, Dansens Hus and Teater Manu, and Vice-Chairman of the Board for the DNB Savings Bank Foundation, and has been a member of the board of NRK.
