Taeryeong Kim
Taeryeong Kim joined the Norwegian National Ballet 2 in the autumn of 2023, after graduation from the Royal Ballet School in London. Since then, she has danced the role of the Winter Fairy in Stevenson’s Cinderella, pas de trois and solo couple in Balanchine’s Jewels, Caroline in León and Lightfoot’s Step Lightly, and solo couple in Balanchine’s Allegro Brillante.
South Korean Kim (b. 2005) started ballet in her hometown Seoul seven years old. At the age of ten, she was admitted into the Korea National University of Arts Academy, where she studied for five years while also studying at the Sunwha Arts Middle School & High School from age 12–15.
15 years old, she won a scholarship through the ballet competition Youth American Grand Prix Korea. This brought her to the Royal Ballet School in London, where she studied for three years before coming to Oslo, Norway. During her education in London, she danced the role of Kitri in Nurejev’s Don Quixote, and also in works such as Wheeldon’s Within the Golden Hour, Kylián’s Sechs Tanze, and Neumeier’s Yondering.
