A detective mystery, with vegetables playing all roles

Porriot and the Case of the Missing Bronze Horse is an unusually playful children’s opera, featuring vegetables in all roles.

Master Detective Porriot, an entertaining mix of leek and detective, is brought in to investigate the disappearance of a valuable museum piece.  A small bronze figure of a horse dating from the Middle Ages has mysteriously vanished, during rehearsals of the historic theatrical production The Hullaballootwaite Play.

At the same time, the detective’s beautiful wife Paprika gets a major part in the performance.

Inspector Cumber, the local policeman and not the sharpest of minds, will play opposite her as the lovesick King. Theatrical director and lady of culture, Sellerine Stang, faces the daunting challenge of keeping the actors, and a rebellious army of peasants, in line.

Meanwhile, Porriot is severely tested as he attempts to solve the mystery, in the best Agatha Christie style. The première approaches, but behind the scenes jealousy and powerful emotions rage.
