Siri van Schijndel

Siri van Schijdel (2003) joined The Norwegian National Ballet 2 in August 2022. The Bergen native started dancing at Askøy Kulturskole age 6.

She moved to Oslo in 2019 and took a bachelor’s degree in classical ballet at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. During her education, Schijndel worked for The Norwegian Opera & Ballet in The Nutcracker in 2021 and La Bayadere in 2022.

During the summer performance at Dansens Hus in 2021, she performed a solo by choreography duo Subjazz with Camilla Spidsøe as a mentor. In 2021 Schijndel reached the final of the Prix de Nord where she danced a solo from Paquita. In her graduation performance at Oslo National Academy of the Arts in 2022, she danced excerpts from Little Humpbacked Horse: Animated Frescoes and in the Forsythe piece The Vile Parody of Address where she worked closely with instructor Elizabeth Corbett and Yoel Carreno.

Schijndel was awarded a scholarship from Thorleif Dahl's Ballettfond in 2022.
