Martin Dauchez

Since Martin Dauchez joined the Norwegian National Ballet in 2011, he has danced roles including the Nutcracker Prince in Boyadjiev’s The Nutcracker, Jørgen Tesman in Moum Aune’s Hedda Gabler, Lensky in Cranko’s Onegin, Lescaut in MacMillan’s Manon, Mercutio and Paris in Romeo and Juliet, the Prince in Spuck’s Sleeping Beauty, and Hilarion and the peasant pas de deux in Giselle.

He has also performed prominent roles in works such as Kylián’s One of a Kind, Gods and Dogs and Petite Mort. In 2025, he was nominated for Dance Europe’s Critics’ Choice Award in the category Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer for his interpretation of Emeralds in Balanchine’s Jewels.

Dauchez has furthermore appeared in Balanchine’s Agon, Serenade and Theme and Variations; Duato’s Multiplicity. Forms of Silence and Emptiness; Forsythe’s The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude and In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated; Scarlett’s Carmen and The Firebird; and León & Lightfoot’s Sleight of Hand.

A native of France, Dauchez also works as a costume designer. He designed the costumes for Cina Espejord’s A Tale of Swan Lake, Emma Portner’s islands, and Jensen/Touret’s Afternoon of a Faun, and created both the set and costume designs for Parish’s Raymonda Suite. He trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP).
